Smooth solar upgrade

I just got my solar system upgraded with So Home. It was pretty easy. They came out, checked my old setup, and put in some new panels. The guys who did it were chill. Everything worked out fine, no fuss.

Consistent service, reliable system

This is my second time getting work done by So Home. Last year they installed my solar panels, and this time I added a new hybrid inverter. Both times the process was straightforward. Their team is always efficient, and the systems just work. It's why I keep coming back; I trust their quality and service.

Good value for solar panels

I was looking for a solar system and So Home had a great bundle offer. The solar panels and battery storage came out to be a good price compared to other places. Felt like I got a solid deal and it was worth the investment.

Amazing solar installation!

So excited about my new solar panels and battery storage! The installation went super smoothly, and the team was so professional. My energy bills are already lower, and I love seeing the app track my usage. Definitely recommending So Home to everyone I know. I'll be a repeat customer for sure!

Decent solar, a few snags

Got a solar panel system with a lithium-ion home battery. The overall shopping experience was pretty good, and the installation team was professional. They finished the job quicker than I expected. My main gripe was that communication about the exact installation date wasn't super clear until closer to the time; I had to chase them a bit. But once it was sorted, everything else went smoothly. The system works well, and I'm happy with the energy savings, just wish the scheduling was a bit more proactive.

Detailed review of my solar install

I got a residential solar array with battery storage installed by So Home. The initial home energy assessment was thorough, and the quote process was clear. Ordering was easy online after discussing options with a rep. Delivery of components took about 3 weeks to my location in Kent. The installation team arrived on schedule and completed the job in two days. They were tidy and explained the solar monitoring app really well. The system is performing as expected, and I've noticed a significant drop in my electricity bill. Customer support was helpful when I had a question about the smart export guarantee. Overall, a solid experience from start to finish.

I'm in Houston, TX. Would So Home even install here or are they only in certain states? Their site doesn't make it super clear for US locations.

L Linda Gomez 1 month ago
So Energy is actually a UK company, pretty sure they don't operate in the US for solar installs. You'd need a local provider for Texas.

J Josh Moore 1 month ago
Yeah, pretty sure they're UK-based only. Their whole energy supply side is too. Definitely double-check with them, but I'm like 99% sure no Houston install.

Hey, thinking about getting solar panels from these guys. Anyone know how long the whole installation process usually takes? From getting a quote to actually having them on the roof?

E Eric Rivera 1 month ago
Yeah, I just went through it. The initial quote and survey stuff was pretty quick, maybe a week or two. Actual installation was done in like 2-3 days max once they started. The longest bit was honestly waiting for all the paperwork and DNO approval.

Mine was about a month and a half total, start to finish. Depends on how busy they are and how complex your roof is I guess.

Does anyone know if these guys offer any financing options for the solar panels? Paying for it all upfront would be tough.

I Ian 2 weeks ago
I'm pretty sure they do. When I got my quote they mentioned a few different ways to pay, including some sort of payment plan. Definitely worth asking their sales team.

I Ian Lee 1 week ago
Yes, they do! They partner with some finance companies, so you can spread the cost. Just ask during the quote stage.

Are the solar panels they use any good? Like, are they a decent brand or some generic stuff? Wanna make sure it's quality.

M Matt B. 1 week ago
From what I remember, they use pretty standard, good quality monocrystalline panels. They're usually 'Tier 1' rated, which is like, the industry standard for reliable manufacturers.

S Sarah Evans 1 week ago
Yeah, my installer told me they only use well-known brands that hold up. Haven't had any issues with mine so far.

Heard about a refer a friend thing. How much is the bonus usually for that? Is it cash or just credit?

B Brittany Lewis 3 weeks ago
It's usually account credit, not cash. I think it varies, but when I referred someone last year it was about 75 quid for both of us.

L Linda E. 3 weeks ago
Yeah, it's credit. I think it's somewhere between £50-£100 usually. Good way to knock a bit off your bills if you know someone else getting solar.
